„Facing the Unknown Future – Religion and Education on the Move“

The contextual conditions of religious education in schools in Europe are the focus of the empirical and theoretical projects of the European Network for Religious Education in Europe through Contextual Approaches (ENRECA). The anniversary volume on the occasion of the network's 20th anniversary deals with different perspectives of time and their influence on the development of religious education in Europe. The fifteen contributions of the volume "Facing the Unknown Future. Religion and Education on the Move" published in June 2020 present projects and developments from Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, England and Estonia and also document common challenges for the future of religious education in schools. Peter Schreiner, Director of CI, is co-editor of the book and analyses in his contribution "Religious Education in Transition" developments of an overarching educational marginalisation of religious education and national initiatives to strengthen it.
