Department for Research and Development of Protestant Schools

The Department for Research and Development of Protestant Schools is an agency of the EKD's Department for Education located at the Comenius Institut.
It is jointly funded by the Barbara Schadeberg Foundation and the EKD.
The purpose of the Department is the support and development of Protestant schools by a deliberate effort to connect theory and practice in the fields of school development, teacher training, and research.

Tasks:

  • Supporting the development of Protestant schools by
  • Developing concepts of school development and teacher training / supporting such efforts in schools
  • Quality monitoring and development with a view to improving individual schools' profiles and performance
  • Quality monitoring and development of current teacher training efforts
  • Design and implementation of pilot projects and measures
  • Evaluation
  • Networking, fostering cooperation and publishing results
